The Welcome of Jesus to Kids

During a Sunday morning service, you may want to know that:

  • We have a mother’s nursing room next to the water fountain in the narthex (but babies are also welcome to eat wherever they want to). Changing stations are available in the nursing room and the family bathroom (exit the sanctuary through the door behind the band). Wiggles and giggles are welcome noises in our service. If you would like to borrow a toy or book for your child to use, please visit the Children’s Library found at the Children’s Welcome Desk. We also offer childcare in our nursery for babies ages 0-24 months from 10:30 until the end of the service.

  • During the sermon, we offer two classes just for them: 2s&3s and Children’s Church. If this is their first Sunday attending a children’s ministry class, please accompany them after the children’s blessing to register them at our Children’s Welcome Desk. After the sermon, return to the Welcome Desk area to collect your child from their classroom. Kids are also always welcome to remain with their families for the duration of the service.

  • These kids are welcome to pick up a “Sermon Challenge” bulletin at the sanctuary entrances. (Hint: To find some answers such as the sermon title and scripture passage, check out the Memorial app for our order of service.)

  • We welcome kids and are glad to have them join us on a Sunday morning. But if your child has sensory needs and your family could use a space to relax, we recommend three options during our Sunday service:

    1. The church parlor. Exit the sanctuary through the doors on either side of the front of the sanctuary and follow the hallway to the left. The parlor is at the end of the hall. You are also able to watch a livestream of the service in this space.

    2. The Children’s Library. Exit the door behind the band and follow the hall. The library shares a space with our Children’s Welcome Desk.

    3. The Play Garden. Located next to the Alexander St. entrance, our Play Garden is a fully fenced outdoor garden space.

If we can come alongside your family in other ways to support your kids as they attend services, please be touch with either Sam Dolby or Katie Kinney.
